UruguayanDefensor (0-1) recorded its first loss in Santiado del Estero on Friday night. Visitors were edged by leader Argentinian Quimsa (1-0) 78-76 . Defensor cut a 17-point halftime deficit to two at the end of the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Defensor helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Brandon Robinson (196-1989, college: Clayton St.) fired 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. point guard Diego Figueredo (185-1991, agency: BIG) chipped in 11 points and 4 assists. Center Theo Metzger (200-1999) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and guard Facundo Terra (187-1998) added 15 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Four Defensor players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Quimsa went down to ninth position due to points difference, which they share with Corinthians. Defensor at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with Alvarado.
